Kathmandu, August 30 Nepal Telecom has decided to continue with free voice, data and SMS services it had earlier announced for the areas affected by the floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems until further notice. Prior to this, the company had announced free voice call service, 2GB data and 50 SMS per day till August 30. According to NT spokesperson Kamal Lamichhane, such services were expanded to facilitate the relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. People in the flood-hit areas have been urged to use the services on a need basis. The disasters caused damage to various telecom physical infrastructures, so the technical teams are at work to regularise telecommunication services as soon as possible in the areas, it is said. The company said that most of the damaged structures in the flood-affected areas have been reinstated, and efforts are underway to operate the remaining structures as early as possible. —RSS The post Nepal Telecom extends free services until further notice appeared first on OnlineKhabar English News.
