Kathmandu, September 7 The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has made significant progress in restoring electricity to areas severely affected by the recent floods. Nearly all households in Dhading (99.8%) and a substantial majority in Nuwakot (96.7%) have had their electricity supply restored despite adverse weather conditions. Both districts were severely affected by the Bhotekoshi flash floods on August 26 and their aftermath. A dedicated technical team from the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is actively working to restore power to the remaining households in Rasuwa. Search and rescue operations are currently underway at several hydropower facilities, including Upper Trishuli-3A and 3B, Chilime and Rasuwagadhi. To facilitate these efforts, essential equipment such as mud pumps and generators has been airlifted to the affected sites. Rescue teams have successfully accessed the Rasuwagadhi powerhouse, while debris removal is ongoing at various locations. At Upper Trishuli-3B, mini excavators are being used to clear debris.
